Is it really free?
Yes. Home maintenance, free during our preview. Nothing in the app can be paid for right now, and no card is needed. We'll publish pricing before anything is ever charged.
What do you do with my data?
Your home details are stored in our database and used to run OakTend: reminders, alerts, and answers about your house. We never sell your personal information, we don't use ad trackers, and the optional Google Analytics on our public pages has its ad features turned off. When you post a job, a pro sees only what's needed to quote it. The full details are in the privacy policy.
Who are the pros?
Our pro network isn't open yet. During the preview you can post a job and it is saved to your home's record. Our team may then look for a local pro by hand. We can't promise to find one. Any pro we point you to is an independent business, not our employee, and we don't vet or guarantee their work, so check their license at cslb.ca.gov and ask for proof of insurance before you hire. Once the pro side opens, pros will apply to jobs in the app.
Will I get flooded with calls once I post a job?
No. Your contact info stays private until you pick a pro yourself. During the preview no pro sees your job or your details unless you tell us to pass them on.
Where is OakTend available?
OakTend is for homes in Orange County, California.
Is there a paid plan?
Not right now. Memberships are coming soon, so there is no plan to buy.
Where does my home's info come from?
When we have public property records for your address (from our data provider), we pre-fill your home's year built, size, and other facts. You can correct anything that's off once you're in.
What happens if I cancel or delete my account?
There's no subscription to cancel during the preview. Deleting your account is permanent: it removes your data from OakTend. One thing to know: if you already shared details with a pro through a job or message, they may keep their own copy in their own business records.
